ART IN ISLAND: 3D Interactive Museum in Cubao, Quezon City

Are you looking for a fun activity to do with your kids this coming weekend? You don’t have to go out of Metro Manila just to jump to a different world!

When my Polish blogger friend Zuza visited Manila last June, I was thinking where I should take her. With the help of my friend Maire, we settled in Cubao Expo to eat in the famous Italian restaurant Bellini’s and visited Art in Island out of curiosity (and boredom).

Look and concentrate…

Art in Island is Asia’s Biggest Trick Art Museum. It currently attracts a lot of foreign and local visitors. While majority of museums discourage photography, Art in Island encourages everyone to take tons of pictures as long as there’s no flash.

When boredom strikes while in Cubao, just play hide and seek with these creatures!

With no big expectations or whatsoever, we paid Php 500 for the entrance. I find it a bit pricey at first, but realized that the fee is beyond reasonable after spending almost three hours inside the museum!

Underwater Awesomeness

I automatically felt like a little kid on a Sunday family bonding treat once we started taking fun pictures. They have different zone themes (Aquatic, Animal, Masterpiece, Central Hall, Fantasy, Religious and Christmas). Feel free to get creative!

I’m perfectly incomplete. I’m still working on my masterpiece… Haha emote lang.

There is no need to get out of Metro Manila in order to teleport in a magical world! All you need is to drive to Art in Island, bring out your camera and be creative with the poses!

I don’t have the courage to do that in real life

We weren’t able to take photos in all the artworks displayed. Since this is an unplanned museum trip, we didn’t even wear the best clothes nor saved some energy for posing and camera batteries for picture taking. It was fun that we were like kids again that afternoon even just for a few hours. It may not be obvious in the photos, but that was tiring!

Will I go there again? Yes! I would love to bring some of my younger relatives there and maybe propose a wacky photo contest. That would be fun, right? 😀

Here’s a short video from GMA News TV’s Taste Buddies last month, where TV hosts Solenn Heussaff and Iya Villania together with special guest Yasmien Kurdi explored the museum and took tons of selfies, grouphies and more photos! Remember – you’re in the social media capital of the world!
