We went to Tambobong Beach in Dasol, Pangasinan without any hotel or cottage accommodation. We figured out that we can just ask around for possible places to stay within the area since it is lean season and the weather is not really that inviting for a beach getaway.
I listed down a few places as suggested by some friends, but we find their rates too expensive for an overnight stay. Upon our arrival at the Burgos Market, our tricycle driver pointed us to a nearby restaurant where we can eat our late lunch. We asked the owner for suggestions, then she gave me the number of a certain Vivian. I called her up and we find her rates quite reasonable.
After a challenging tricycle trip from Burgos Market to Brgy. Tambobong, we asked the locals on where Ms. Vivian’s place is. We were directed to a residential home and Ms. Vivian welcomed us. The place is still under renovation, but two air-conditioned cottages are already available for occupancy. For Php1,500, we stayed in R Paradise Beach Resort.
To cut costs, we bought some easy to cook food from the Burgos Market before proceeding to Tambobong Beach. There’s an outdoor kitchen where guests can cook meals and you can also ask them to cook for you for a minimal fee. What made our stay here good Is the homey feel. Ms. Vivian and I talked about life in Dasol, why she chose to move there with the family (she is originally from Laguna) and the beach is just a few steps away from our cottage.
Our room may not be as fabulous as other rooms offered by other places, but we have a very nice bathroom! 😛
If you want some quiet time, then Tambobong Beach is the place for you. We wanted to take the island hopping tour, but the weather deprived us to do so (safety first!).
