Just Another Night of Fire and Passion in Boracay

The Fire Dancers of Boracay are considered as local celebrities of the party island. Dancing and playing with fire every night while maintaining your gorgeous body is worth loads of applause and tips from the audience.

I cannot remember how many times I’ve seen the nightly fire dance sets of Sandbar Boracay. In fact, I was able to memorize some of their routines yet I am still mesmerized with every move. Why so talented?

Brenna and I brought our friends to Sandbar for them to appreciate the fire dancers. They were hesitant at first, but were impressed when they finally gave it a shot. Carla, the leader of the group, was wearing a blue dress. If I remember it right, she was in the middle of her ‘I Have Nothing’ number. The other dancers smiled back when they recognized us. Ahhh, this place feels like home!

We noticed new faces. Apparently, three dancers were hired from Mindoro. Some of the fire dancers we met previously left, while majority stayed.

There’s Rocky, Nelson, Jessa, Jillian and the three new boys. The tourists were drawn with how they play with fire – there were instances wherein they’d pretend to hit you with their fire poi, but it’s safe. Don’t panic!

Right after the last set, the dancers changed their outfits and went back to rehearse for their upcoming play which involves dance, music, acting and more fire. Talk about passion and hard work!

Thanks to the fire dancers of Boracay for making our trips extra special by sharing your talent to us! Catch them perform live in Sandbar Boracay everynight. Also, the musical they’re producing soon is called Solara: The Tale of the Boracay Sunset. Watch the teaser video below!

TRIVIA: Have you seen the sexy-comedy film “Status: It’s Complicated”? These fire dancers were featured in the Boracay scene where Manny (Jake Cuenca) and Rina (Maja Salvador) found out that Jerry (Paulo Avelino) is dating Marian David (Eugene Domingo).

Have you seen any of the fire dance shows in Boracay? Be careful when playing with fire! 😛

Kahit kelan di tlga ako nagsawa sa Boracay.. iba parin ung white sand, parang fine powder. tapos marame ng deals, mas cheaper na ang travel. many restaurants to choose from. and a lot of good-looking, good bod as well. And may I add the nightlife..really fun in Bora, can’t wait to go back.
Everytime na napapadaan ako sa isang firedance sa Bora, lagi ako napapatambay ng saglit para manuod hnggang matapos..haha

  4. Hi Mica, I’ve seen the fire shows the last time I was in Boracay. I was truly impressed with the skills of the fire dancers for it obviously not an easy feat. But my husband was deeply shocked when he found out the the performers were “HE-SHE’s!” 🙂 You nicely captured the performances.
