Too Early for the Chiang Mai Sunday Night Market

On my Chiang Mai trip early last year, I was able to roam around within the vicinities of the Old City. Too bad I didn’t have enough funds to spend on tours and shopping. I enjoyed my trip to the Chiang Mai Zoo thought and enjoyed the simple rounds at the Saturday Night Market.

One lazy Sunday in Chiang Mai

Some say that the Sunday Night Market is bigger. There’s a line-up of live presentations too. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to wait longer because our bus going to Bangkok leaves the hostel at around 6PM.

I didn’t waste my time that Sunday. I ate in a mid-class restaurant and met up with Raymond of ManOnTheLam.com at Starbucks. We discussed about his brief stint in the Philippines and how he is eager to come back. It is already instant for us to talk about upcoming trips and on where to stay in Valencia. While we’re chatting in the coffee shop, I noticed that vendors are starting to work on their stalls. We decided to go out and check the buzz.

Nomnomnom!

At 3PM, vendors were starting to arrange some items for sale. I spotted a number of quirky toys, comfy clothes, artworks and many more. My eyes feasted on some food finds too!

The temptation to buy something is just too strong. I bought a yellow Bob Marley dress and something for the family. Might as well spend the last bahts for something worth buying.

I am thinking of flying back to Bangkok for my birthday. I’ll make sure to bring extra moolah for shopping and more tours! Not a shopaholic, but Chiang Mai is a good place to haggle and buy items.  Chiang Mai, I’ll see you again!

  1. If you like shopping the Sunday market in Chiang Mai is a good place to be!
I loved the food there, there is so much choice that made my pick difficult.
We had plenty of tasty little meals while walking around the market and finish with a very naughty banana and nutella pancake which was enormous and very delicious! 🙂
