The Growth of the Tiny Kitchen in Davao City

Davao City is restaurant haven. While most people fly to this part of Mindanao for Durian and Marang, I go there just to do a bit of resto hopping.

I’ve been vocal about my love for Tiny Kitchen. It all started when I bought some bottled tuyos as pasalubong for my grandparents on my first visit to Davao. On my second trip, I was able to try some of their special dishes like Kaldereta and Callos. Their cakes and pastries are good too. No wonder my friends from Davao would go there from time to time.

Last year, Tiny Kitchen participated at the yearly Davao Food Appreciation Tour. I found out that the owners are Rodriguez (distant relative? hehe how I wish!) and they explained on why they chose a small location. They have plans of moving to a bigger place, but everything is at the planning stage.

Just last May, I joined DFAT again (my third time teehee) and I was surprised to learn that they moved to a bigger – and better location! The Growth of the Tiny Kitchen!

I met Mrs. Donna Rodriguez again and I’m glad that she remembered me. She mentioned that everything is still at the testing stage and it is fun to see most of the chairs and tables occupied during dinner time. On this year’s DFAT, they prepared mostly cakes and pastries for us to taste. The sweets are good, but I want more food too so I went back the next day with friends Eric, Ria, Donna and Emman.

Here’s what we ordered:

  1. Davao is our hometown, but never been to Tiny Kitchen. We’ll visit it for sure on our vacation, since it’s located on the food paradise street of Davao. πŸ™‚
