Boracay Tree House Resort: Cheap Dorm-Style Accommodation in Boracay

A good friend of mine asked me if it is possible to stay in Boracay on a tight budget. My answer is YES.

Last April, I went to Boracay alone for a spontaneous task. I wasn’t able to book a room prior to my flight. Since it is considered as peak season in Boracay that time, the prices are a bit more higher than the usual.

From Kalibo International Airport, I rode a van going to Caticlan for more than an hour then reached Boracay in minutes. I shared a tricycle with some tourists and I asked the driver to drop me in D’Mall. I thought of trying my luck in Eriko’s House or Tans Guesthouse. Unfortunately, all the accommodations within the alley are fully booked.

I wrote down some possible cheap accommodations as recommended by some blogger friends. I ended up in Boracay Tree House, which is located somewhere in Station 3.5 (it’s very far from D’Mall that’s why). It’s approximately 20 minutes leisure walk. Dylan stressed that the place may be far, but I will like it.

When I arrived, I asked if there’s an available bunk bed for one. I am lucky because I got the last vacant slot for Php300 (the regular price is Php200 during off-peak season). The room is good for 8 people with one common bathroom.

I stayed in the dorm-style room of Boracay Tree House for two nights and met new friends. It is one of the instances wherein you need to spend less on accommodation expenses yet gain more friends from around the world. Awesome!

In a place like Borocay you spend most of the time outdoors anyway, this looks like a great place.

At first medyo uncomfy, pero mawawala rin yan once you meet your room mates πŸ™‚ you have to be extra careful din with your things though.

I considered checking in at this hostel during my last trip to Boracay, but I ended up at a P500-beachfront inn, which is also located at Station 3. Shared it with the boyfriend though para mas makatipid. πŸ™‚
