Dawel River Cruise in Dagupan City with Bloggers & Students

Pangasinan is a top tourist destination in Northern Luzon. Alaminos City is known in history for its Hundred Islands Park, while Bolinao is known for the white sand beach, lighthouse and numerous caves. Lingayen is for those who wants to simply enjoy at the park, capitol and Lingayen Beach. Just this year, Dagupan City’s Tourism Office started to develop and promote the Dawel River Cruise.

It is my second time to try the Dawel River Cruise. This time, I am with Manila-based blogger friends and some CICS students from Lyceum-Northwestern University.

As of writing, the Dawel River Cruise is free since it is still in the testing stage. There are big improvements compared to the first time I went there. They do have a Tourist Guide in each banca who shares the historical background of the passable rivers and some information about Dagupan City. It can now accommodate 30+ passengers. That day, we went on tour with some high school students and senior citizens. What a relaxing way to spend the afternoon!

When I say relaxing, I really mean it. The cool breeze just pushes everyone to sleep LOL. The playlist composed of old 80’s songs doesn’t help in keeping us awake. If I can rent a banca for one tour, I would bring some banig so the passengers can lie down and sleep. I will call a masahista too! I bet that experience is just as good as Tenerife holidays. What do you thinkΓ‚Β πŸ˜›

Most passengers were amused upon learning that the River clean-up turned out to be a big success. Dagupan City encountered a lot of trash-related problems in the previous years. Thanks to the enthusiasm of the Tourism Department to push through with the project. I am quite surprised when I found out that all of my companions were first-timers except me! It is obvious that they had fun though πŸ˜€

On certain trips, outrageous ideas pop up in my head in an instant. Hannah is now addicted to pole dancing and she even tried to do the ‘POLE-ING’  (Pole-ing is the new Owling LOL). The rest of the passengers were busy chatting and sightseeing anyway πŸ˜›

Take a look at the video below wooooot πŸ˜€

Since some of my companions saw my kulit pictures from my first Dawel River Cruise post, we asked permission if we can take pictures while doing funny poses at the top of the small boat where the driver is seated. I’m glad they obliged hehe πŸ˜€

The tour lasted approximately 40 minutes. You will also spot some fishermen selling seafoods like crabs, alimango etc. while riding in their little boats. Right after the tour, I went to the air-conditioned comfort room. Bongga lang!

I am looking forward to further developments within the area. I think they’re planning to add a small restaurant at the docking area or a stall selling refreshments and take-away snacks. That would be awesome!

Have you tried the Dawel River Cruise in Dagupan City? Don’t forget to try this out when you’re in Pangasinan!

Special thanks to Lyceum-Northwestern University CICS Department especially to Mr. Jaypee Tanguilig and Mr. Nes Nanoy Duque. Sa uulitin!

  6. It would be nice also if they could add a buffet meal featuring local cuisine while cruising the river. It would be another draw for the visitors.

nice. mukang mas maganda at mas malinis kesa sa Loboc. Sana mapreserve at sana gawin din ng Tourism Office ng Bohol ang clean up drive. Nice find mica. Never been to Dagupan or any other parts of Pangasinan. Try ko yan pag nagawi ako. heheh!

Nga pala, naaliw ako sa Pole dancing na yan. Ipapaubaya ko na lang sa iba dahil pag ako ang nagpole dancing, goodluck sa posteng yan. hahah!

Hindi pa ako nakapunta ng Loboc so i can’t really comment πŸ˜€ Sana yung sa Dagupan ma-maintain nila yung cleanliness. Medyo mahirap din linisin yun noon kasi napabayaan. Dawel Pole Dancing ftw! πŸ˜€
