Be Resorts - The Place To Be in Mactan, Cebu

I’ll be honest here. The main reason why I really want to check the place out is because of the fact that it used to be Microtel Cebu. Also, a friend of mine also admired the simplicity and elegance of the newly-revamped resort.

We arrived at Be Resorts just in time for lunch. Ms. Andrea Lugue (Be Resorts Marketing and Communications Manager) welcomed us with a very good Asian-inspired lunch:

We had a very good lunch not only because the food served were great, but chatting with Andrea about random stuff related to Be Resorts is just entertaining. This talented girl is younger than me too!

I noticed that Be Resorts was fully-booked that day and the lobby is filled with Korean tourists. It’s the peak season for Korean guests since its summer in their country this month. I love the lobby of Be Resorts due to its simplicity and you can see the beach right away. Also, the fact that they’re showcasing some of Cebu furniture designers made me really smile.

Now let’s go the rooms. The only room we were able to see is the Be Chic room. I really love the colors and the total package of the room. Surely, most kids and girls will pick this room. The view of the beach from the room is also romantic.

We were also able to check the Be Active area, where kids and teens would most likely hangout. You can borrow and play board games, play electronic games, billiard among others. There’s also a little kiddie corner there where they can play safely. We played scrabble and even took a short video there (to be uploaded soon ) Outside the Be Active room is a giant jacuzzi and swimming pool.

I really enjoyed my short stay, but i am really curious on how the entire place looks like at night. Some of their furnitures have lights at night. They also offer a variety of activities in partnership with a travel agency such as island hopping tours, diving, snorkeling among others.

Plantation Bay Resort and Spa

It was only last Christmas when I learned that a relative of mine works in Plantation Bay. He is Gerry Rodriguez, the Executive Housekeeper of Plantation Bay Resort and Spa. I mentioned to him last Christmas break that I’ll be going to Cebu with my blogger friends and just last January, I finally saw the very famous resort.

Even if I was a bit sick that afternoon, Bryan Karl and I took a cab to Mactan, Cebu to visit Plantation Bay. Honestly, what I saw at the entrance is very far from what I’ve expected. I was expecting to see a very glamorous lobby, but what we saw is something similar to a native design. Oh yeah, we’re in Plantation Bay. The name simply points out to nature, not on the bongga stuff

We were asked to take a minute break at the lobby before Tito Gerry gave us some pointers and our very own map. We were really amazed upon entering Plantation Bay. ‘Eto pala ‘yung nakikita namin sa picture!‘ I said like a little kid. Tito Gerry mentioned the different types of Villas and the other facilities of the resort. We listened to him while taking some pictures too

Plantation Bay Resort and Spa

We were able to eat in Kilimanjaro Kafe for our merienda. Plantation Bay houses three other food establishments: Fiji (Seafood, Japanese, Korean and other Asian cuisine), Palermo (Italian cuisine for lovers – dinner only) and Savannah Grill (Burgers, hotdogs, steaks and salads).

Plantation Bay offers different types of rooms. We were able to check one of the rooms. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to upload some of the pictures. The external HD where I placed my pictures got broken T_T Here’s one though:

Can I just sleep here every night?

We were able to check the Spa section of Plantation Bay. There’s the Mogambo Springs (for massages, vichy showers, hot pool, thalassic pool, canyon waterfalls, man-made mist, steam room and dry-heat sauna). The staff were very accommodating and when we went there, we saw a number of foreign tourists relaxing in this area. They also have a Beauty Salon for Hair Care and Nail Care.

The Sports and Recreation corner of Plantation Bay includes the Galapagos (island adventure tours, sunset cruise, banca ride, scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing, jetskis, hobie cat, speedboat, kayaks and tow rides), Savannah Park (firing range, segway, tennis courts, wall climbing, pitch and putt, archery, karaoke, children’s center, children’s playground) and Gym & Gameroom (treadmill, weights, range of motion machine, inversion table, cross-trainer, stationary bicycle, multi-gym station, tabletop games, billiards, playtation 3, nintendo wii, darts, internet and bicycles.).

The quick tour lasted for more than two hours and to be honest, nabitin ako! I want to explore further and if time permits, i’d like to stay there overnight. I am curious on how Plantation Bay looks like at night. I heard that they offer cool events for their guests especially at night. Will I go back? The answer is a big YES!

We found ourselves at Kabayan Beach Resort in San Juan, Batangas. I’ve been to San Juan, Batangas only once and that was twelve years ago. It is actually nice to go back

We planned for a day tour. The location is quite far, but the long drive is worth it. We whole team arrived at Kabayan Resort at around 12noon (just in time for lunch!). The place is a bit occupied with families and barkadas enjoying the weekend, but we didn’t really worry much about the parking. The security guard of the resort had a list of guests with him and gladly assisted us.

What can I say about Kabayan Resort? I love the place because it is clean and quiet – meaning the place is not crowded and the janitors were just around the place to pick up some trash from time to time. The facilities are also nice and the view just simply gives you the peace of mind that you need. The view of the sea, the mountains and the sunset is just too pleasing to the eye especially if you just arrived from the City of Manila. The love the sand too!

The staff and crew of the resort were accommodating and they gladly assisted to our needs with a smiling face. Makes you want to come back once more.I never heard my companions complain about the resort, which is a good thing. We went there to catch up and have fun anyway
