Welcome to Nagtabon Beach Cove!

Thanks to Mr. Rey Felix Rafols of Puerto Fresh Palaweño Cuisine, he suggested that if we still have enough time, we should go to Nagtabon Beach Cove. We were a bit hesitant at first because we were thinking about the possible hardships of going there (ang drama LOL) but when we searched for pictures online, we were fascinated and we were eager to go there and be in the secluded paradise in a snap!

After more than an hour drive from Microtel Puerto Princesa, we went straight to Nagtabon Beach Cove. Our efforts to go there were paid off since wow, we really saw a very clean and serene beach there!

I can picture myself lying down under the shade of the coconut tree while listening to Bonnie Bailey’s ‘Ever After’ as I sip and drink a cold Mango Juice.

Belo Medical Group Cebu

Last Friday, I finally got the chance to enter Belo Medical Group’s Cebu branch. I availed the Body Scrub treatment. I was just curious on how the whole thing works when I was there. I’ve passed by the outer part of the clinic a lot of times already, but it was my first time to enter and inquire. I’m glad that Ms. Joy, the officer that time was friendly. She even offered some beverages to drink while I’m waiting for my turn (walk-in applicant).

I was introduced to Cypress, the aesthetician assigned to do the Body Scrub. It’s my second time to try body scrub (my first one is in Forever Flawless last month). I wouldn’t write in detail on the whole procedure. All I can say that the body scrub treatment somewhat removed all the stress and worries away!

The Belo Medical Group Body Scrub costs around Php 2,200+ (forgot the exact amount LOL will update this as soon as I find my receipt ) and i’m satisfied with it. I also love the staff of the Cebu branch because they were all smiling despite the fact that the clinic was pretty occupied that time. Dr. Dimples also gave me a free consultation. I also learned that the Cebu branch doesn’t offer surgical procedures yet. What they usually do is refer the interested patient to one of the branches in Manila.

Xcelerator Zipline: Longest Zipline in Asia!

The Xcelerator Zipline of Outland Adventure owns the title and it is located in Davao City. We were able to go there last April as a part of our Davao Food Appreciation Tour 2010, though we didn’t really eat while ziplining LOL

I got interested in trying the Xcelerator Zipline when I saw the wedding proposal video of Kuya Jay to Ate Aileen last March 2009 (they’re married now!). Former DFAT participants also claimed that ziplining is worth the try, so why not?

Early morning, the whole troupe went to Diversion Road (across GAP Farm). The location is just 10 minutes away from Davao City proper. We were asked to sign a waiver and pay our entrance fee. The staff of Outland Adventures gave us a little orientation about the do’s and don’ts of ziplining and gave us a little background on what we’ll be doing. Wore our helmets and harness too!

We were asked to walk a bit and we crossed a river with a use of a wooden raft. It can carry around 10 people at a time.

It is my first time to cross a river that way! The next task is to go up the hill and since I don’t exercise, I had a hard time going up. I am not complaining though because it gave me the opportunity to sweat a bit

After 15-20 minutes of climbing up, we finally reached the top of the hill. The first batch of zipliners were there already and if i’m not mistaken, I am the 7th one. The DFAT participants tried three positions: Superman, Inverted and Sitting. Since its my first time to zipline ever, i tried the easiest one which is sitting. No regrets since I was able to enjoy the wonderful view in a much more comfortable manner.

As expected, each one of us (especially the first timers) have funny stories to tell especially before we were ‘released’. It was a pleasant experience and i might go back this October. I want to try the inverted one. Dare me?

Be Resorts - The Place To Be in Mactan, Cebu

I’ll be honest here. The main reason why I really want to check the place out is because of the fact that it used to be Microtel Cebu. Also, a friend of mine also admired the simplicity and elegance of the newly-revamped resort.

We arrived at Be Resorts just in time for lunch. Ms. Andrea Lugue (Be Resorts Marketing and Communications Manager) welcomed us with a very good Asian-inspired lunch:

We had a very good lunch not only because the food served were great, but chatting with Andrea about random stuff related to Be Resorts is just entertaining. This talented girl is younger than me too!

I noticed that Be Resorts was fully-booked that day and the lobby is filled with Korean tourists. It’s the peak season for Korean guests since its summer in their country this month. I love the lobby of Be Resorts due to its simplicity and you can see the beach right away. Also, the fact that they’re showcasing some of Cebu furniture designers made me really smile.

Now let’s go the rooms. The only room we were able to see is the Be Chic room. I really love the colors and the total package of the room. Surely, most kids and girls will pick this room. The view of the beach from the room is also romantic.

We were also able to check the Be Active area, where kids and teens would most likely hangout. You can borrow and play board games, play electronic games, billiard among others. There’s also a little kiddie corner there where they can play safely. We played scrabble and even took a short video there (to be uploaded soon ) Outside the Be Active room is a giant jacuzzi and swimming pool.

I really enjoyed my short stay, but i am really curious on how the entire place looks like at night. Some of their furnitures have lights at night. They also offer a variety of activities in partnership with a travel agency such as island hopping tours, diving, snorkeling among others.

Sugar Loop Cafe - Dagupan City, Pangasinan

Tita Rhoda invited me to Sugar Loop Cafe, which is located at the ground floor of Gely Mar Hotel. I was impressed with the look and feel of the coffee shop. It is not as big as Manila-based coffee shops, but their comfortable seats will surely make you want to just sit and relax there.

Sugar Loop Cafe offers a variety of drinks. I ordered the usual Iced Mocha drink on my first visit. I also ordered Carbonara pasta for me and my friend, Nel.

What I love most about Sugar Loop Cafe is the free wifi. The connection is fast compared to Manila-based coffee shops (which is pretty understandable LOL). They also play soothing acoustic songs to entertain some of their guests.

Body Scrub Friday at Forever Flawless

It is the main reason why I chose the Body Scrub service during my second visit to Forever Flawless Greenhills. I originally planned to try the other mall-based clinics, but meh, i feel so at home at the clinic just a few steps away from my real home.

Right after my lunch last Friday, I went straight to Forever Flawless Greenhills for a body scrub. I am so lucky because majority of the patients present that day were there for a facial. They only have one small room for the body scrub treatment.

This time, Joy from FFGH was assigned to do the Body Scrub. It is my first time ever to try body scrub. On my old workplace, a co-worker once told me that she won’t mind spending some bucks per month just to have a relaxing body scrub. It helps remove dead skin cells and helps whiten and soften the skin.

When I entered the room, Joy asked me to wear the disposable undies and gave me a shower cap too. Now here’s the ingredients for Body Scrub (refer to the photo above)

The first thing applied to my body is the combination of salt and oil, which helped remove dead skin cells and give a smoother feel to the skin. I was ’saltified’ (saltified LOL whattaterm haha) for 15 minutes. I remember laughing out loud when she was scrubbing my tummy area. May kiliti ako d’yan LOL

I took a quick shower then she applied something that helps whiten the skin. She applied the cream first at the back part of my body, leave it on for fifteen minutes, then apply more cream at the front part of the body and leave it there for fifteen minutes. Hmmm.. This really felt good! The soothing music at the background almost made me sleep

Now let's moisturize!

After the whitening part, I took a quick shower again. The last step is the moisturizing of the hands, legs and feet. I felt like a renewed person at the end of the treatment

The Body Scrub almost took us more than an hour to finish. I asked Joy who among the celebrity endorsers of Forever Flawless tried the Body Scrub. According to her, young male star Ejay Falcon and Starstruck Female Survivor Sarah Lahbati tried the Body Scrub before in the Greenhills branch.

The Body Scrub treatment costs around Php 2,000. It is not as expensive as I thought! When I went home that night, I checked my skin and it’s no longer dry and it lightened a bit. I have a feeling though that getting a body scrub at least once in one or two months will be a good idea not only for exfoliating my body, but also for relaxation purposes. I am happy to be a Flawless girl!
