Luxury Resort Hopping in Siquijor

You can call me a lucky girl because I had the opportunity to explore Siquijor without spending too much. I was able to visit majority of its tourist attractions in terms of beaches, waterfalls, churches, caves and many more. Aside from that, I can say that I am fortunate enough to do a ‘resort hopping’ in this beautiful island of Siquijor. If you’re looking for a possible destination for couples, I suggest that you consider staying in some of the best resorts in the Island of Fire. Rawr!

NOTE: This is arranged according to the date of visit! Thanks to Dylan! πŸ˜€

KAWAYAN HOLIDAY RESORT – San Juan, SiquijorΒ

It is the first destination in Siquijor that we’ve been to. I didn’t really expect much about this place when we were in the gate entrance, but got really surprised when I finally entered the resort and saw its breathtaking view! The fifty pesos entrance fee is justified.

There were a number of couples checked in when we went there. I can say that it is the best honeymoon spot in Siquijor. Who wouldn’t fall in love with this kind of resort? Check promo rates!

The Little Mermaid of the Danish Lagoon Resort

THE DANISH LAGOON – San Juan, Siquijor

The Danish Lagoon is owned two Danish-Norweigan couple. It seems like they brought Denmark in Siquijor by naming their villas based on the books of Christian Andersen. One of the resort’s attraction is the statue of The Little Mermaid. Check for discounted rates!

The staff on duty who accompanied us was friendly and nice. No need to pay for entrance fees and they even allowed us to check the rooms. It is also a good place for couples or large groups who would rather stay in one place than gallivant around the island. I think they offer some diving lessons too.

Firefly Cove Resort
I bet sunset viewing here in Firefly Cove is good

THE FIREFLY COVE BEACH RESORT – Enrique Villanueva, Siquijor

If you want a more personalized service and in a way live like a local – the luxurious way, I suggest that you check out The Firefly Cove Beach Resort. We were lucky because the owners were there that day and allowed us to enter and take pictures. According to them, they do cook and serve for the guest. They treat every visitor as a family member.

It is also said to be one of the places in Siquijor with the best sunset view. I checked some of their rooms and they’re pretty nice! They also allow other visitors to do snorkeling and kayaking in the beachfront.

LAZI BEACH CLUB – Lazi, Siquijor

Getting there is quite a big challenge – liblib kung liblib!  We almost got lost and wanted to go back to the main road. If you want some time alone to write and reflect, I think the Lazi Beach Club is best for you. The sister of the Filipina owner made us feel at home and introduced us to the Canadian owner. For promo rates, go here.

Lazi Beach Resort
Go lazy in Lazi πŸ˜›

It is a place best for writers especially if you want to finish one novel. Writing with the clear beach as your view is just too ideal. In a way, Lazi Beach Club is also perfect for lazy people… like me =))

VILLA MARMARINE RESORT – Siquijor, Siquijor

Villa Marmarine Resort
Chill… sa aking duyan (Villa Marmarine Resort)

Based on my observation, I think Villa Marmarine is popular to tourists and locals alike. It is one of the most established resorts in Siquijor and the Japanese owners have contributed a lot to the success of the place. I’ve also read a number of blog entries with positive experiences in the resort. We asked if we can possibly check the rooms, but they were fully booked that day.

The chillax ambiance of Villa Marmarine Resort

When in Villa Marmarine, you can take a leisure walk and explore  Candanay Sur and Norte beaches. This place is best for families and even for solo travelers. The cafe facing the beach is just inviting for bloggers who want to work on their blogs while on vacation.

So there you have it! Although budget traveling is recommended if you want to explore more places without spending too much, I guess it is ok to spend on luxury travel from time to time as a reward to yourself… or for that special someone. There’s a number of good holiday package deals that suits you and your partner anyway. Because of this Resort Hopping activity of ours, I can now safely say that Siquijor will soon be the Top Honeymoon Destination of the Philippines! Why not? <3

    i LOVE this post!

Been there — the danish lagoon and the kawayan. the lazi beach resort signage was almost everywhere in siquijor but we just passed by the area. somehow in the future when we go back to stay in one of those resorts, i can visit the other two you have mentioned here.

I still owe my blog a post of my siquijor trip. I just finished posting my pics last night on facebook. ^^

    Ang sarap mag biyahe nalang.

Thanks Ate Arlene! I just love the resorts of Siquijor! I think though that the main target market are foreigners, which is not bad at all if you’d see the bigger picture.

Getting to Lazi Beach Club really requires effort hehe I’m glad that we were able to visit this resort even if we were close to giving up because of the distance. Looking forward to your Siquijor trip entries too! πŸ˜€

I’d been wanting to be in this place sooooo much … 3 of my friends and I planned to visit Siquijor. We’re all from Cebu. But now, they’re cancelling the trip for some reasons… I wanna gooooo but I don’t wanna go alone coz for sure, mahal ang gastos kapag mag-isa lang. Haaaay… here I am,…. waiting in vain…. kung kelan na naman kaya ang magiging susunod na travel date to Siquijor…. ganda na pictures talaga… nakaka-inggit πŸ™

Ohmygod these all look AMAZING – more reasons for why Siquijor is the #1 place I want to visit in the Philippines! Sadly it doesn’t look like I’ll get there this year (using my vacay time to show my brother around Korea when he comes), but will try and get over when I’m in SE Asia next year.

Thanks for posting – information about Siquijor isn’t as abundant as say, Bohol or Boracay online. Really useful! ^^

Now to make a reservation for Firefly Cove…oh, and borrow some money πŸ˜‰
