Where to Stay in Batad: Simon’s View Point Inn

Last November, I went to Batad Village with 18  cool travelers. We stayed at Simon’s View Point Inn or fondly called Simon’s Lodge.

Right after trekking for hours under the heat of the sun with only minutes of sleep from the 9 hours bus trip, we were all relieved when we finally reached our home for the night. Dominic of EscapeIslands.com arranged everything for us and he is already a valued customer of Simon’s Lodge.

I love the fact that our place that night is just adjacent to the magnificent view of the Batad Rice Terraces. Don’t you just love waking up in the morning with that view from your window?

Alex and I shared a room. No air-con and no electric fan. The cold weather of Batad is already enough. They also serve breakfast, lunch and dinner meals for the guests.

Here’s what I ordered in Simon’s Lodge:

Chicken and Vegetable Rice for lunch

Corned Beef with Rice for Breakfast

When in Batad Village, there are no network signals. It is a perfect place for those who would like to disconnect and try if they can survive with no text, calls or internet connection.

One thing that I noticed in Simon’s Lodge is the wall where previous guests posts their pictures and other souvenirs. I left my calling card there and I am hoping to see it again on my next Batad trip.

For only Php 200, we had a simple yet relaxing overnight stay in Batad. DABEST :P
